Objectives of Massage Therapy Training:
- To develop proficiency and confidence in Swedish Massage
Techniques.
- To teach comprehensive understanding of the structure and function of the human body and the effects of massage therapy through practical working knowledge of anatomy, physiology,
Kinesiology, musculo-skeletal pathology and
human disease.
- To develop confidence and skills necessary to successfully practice massage through clinical, practical and internship requirements.
- To teach understanding of the benefits and limitations of massage therapy, and the knowledge to refer clients to other professional health care practitioners when appropriate.
- To have students understand and appreciate their own bodies and practice self care, including proper movement during massage for safety and injury prevention.
- To teach understanding of the process of change in people in order to facilitate client change through massage therapy.
- To teach the necessary skills for planning, beginning and successfully operating a business in massage therapy.
